BPL Controversy: Sujan fined for smoking in the dressing room

At that time, he was seen smoking during matches. Smoking in front of cricketers like this is out of cricketing etiquette. After Sujan’s actions in the dressing room, the media workers contacted former cricketer Debbrat Pal, the referee of the Barisal – Khulna match. But he did not say anything about this.

Debbrata only said that he saw the video on his mobile phone while returning from the stadium. But he did not want to comment at that time. “I have only seen the video. I can’t comment on it right now. But smoking in the dressing room is definitely against the spirit of cricket. He can’t do that during a match. It’s unfortunate,” Debbrat said.

In these cases, the smoker is given a verbal warning or the match fee is deducted. Usually young or inexperienced cricketers are given a verbal warning and seniors are more likely to be charged match fees. Meanwhile, Khaled Mahmud Sujan is a very experienced person. He was the captain of the national team for a time. Later he was also in the role of team manager, and assistant coach. So, it is assumed that 15 to 20 per cent of his match fee may be deducted.
