Boom Boom Afridi to play in Everest Premier League 2021; glamour of the tournament increase certainly

Despite retiring from international cricket, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has yet to leave the 22-yard field. The 44-year-old former all-rounder from Pakistan is playing with youngsters in T20 franchises at home and abroad.

Shahid Afridi is going to play for Kathmandu Kings XI in Nepal’s domestic T20 tournament known as Everest Premier League 2021. The tournament’s matches are going to be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal from September 25 to October 9. Local superstar Sandeep Lamichhane is going to be his teammate in the Kathmandu Kings XI. Earlier, Afridi and Lamichhane played together for the ICC World XI. Boom Boom Afridi is going to play in this tournament mainly at the invitation of Lamichhane.

Lamichhane welcomed Afridi in a video message that started the team’s campaign. “Welcome to Kathmandu Kings XI. The boys are eager to see you on the field. I know you will have a great time in Nepal. I am desperate to see you on the team.”

Lamichhane moved to England to play in The Hundred and Blast tournaments. But he had to return to Nepal due to visa complications. Lamichhane has also played against Afridi in the Afghanistan Premier League and Pakistan Super League before.

“This will be my first visit to Kathmandu,” Afridi said before heading to Nepal’s Everest Premier League. He added that he is excited about this tour of Nepal and hopes to have a good time there.

At that time, a media worker asked him how many sixes he would hit in the Everest Premier League 2021. With a laugh, Afridi replied, “It depends on the bowling of the opponent. However, I will try well to entertain the cricket fans in Nepal.”

Afridi has represented Pakistan in 27 Tests, 398 ODIs, and 99 T20I matches, and has scored 11,196 runs in international cricket across three formats. He has taken 541 wickets in three formats.
