Bijoy set the record of 'thousand' runs in DPL

Anamul Haque Bijoy is in great form in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL). In this DPL, any adjective is suitable for the Prime Bank opener batsman. He is passing the season as a dream with the bat. Bijoy is also the number one batsman with the most runs. He also added a new page to the record book.

Today, Bijoy touched a unique milestone against Rupganj Tigers. Bijoy is now the only batsman in the history of Dhaka Premier League to score ‘Thousand’ in one season. The right-handed opener touched the milestone of ‘1000’ when Bijoy was with a single completed 70 run against Rupganj Tigers.

His team also won on the day the record was set. Two openers of Prime Bank became aggressive from the beginning after batting for the target of 230 runs given by Rupganj Tigers. With the bat of Tamim and Bijoy, Prime Bank reached the target without losing a wicket in just 26.4 overs. Despite the two batsmen scoring centuries, the award for the best match went to Bijoy, who scored an unbeaten 112 off 84 balls.

Meanwhile, young cricketer Saif Hasan holds the record for most runs in a single season in List’ A’ cricket. In the 2018-19 season, Prime Doleshwar scored 814 runs in 16 matches on behalf of the team at an average of 62.61. Bijoy has broken Saif’s record this season. 1042 runs in 8 fifties with 3 centuries this season.

The wicketkeeper, who has been out of the national team for a long time, also gave the return message quite well. Bijoy figures for the country’s jerseys are not bad either. He has scored 1052 runs at an average of 30.06 in his 38-match ODI career, and he has 3 equal centuries and half-centuries. Besides, Bijoy has scored 355 runs in 13 T20s. The selectors will start thinking anew about  Bijoy, who played in the national team in 2019 last.
