The Bangladesh cricket team has received good news after losing the 1st Test against Pakistan in Chattogram. Shakib Al Hasan has been reported fit for the second Test on December 4. Shakib missed the first Test and the T20I series against Pakistan and the last few matches of the recently held ICC T20 World Cup due to a hamstring injury.
Shakib passed the fitness test in Dhaka last Monday. Taskin Ahmed has returned to the team after recovering from an injury. Taskin injured his finger during the third T20I match against Pakistan on November 22, which knocked him out of the first Test.
Besides, a regular opener of the Bangladesh T20 team, Mohammad Naim has been called up for the first time in the Test squad. Naim, who has played 2 ODIs and 32 T20Is, has played 6 first-class matches. However, he did not do anything eye-catching in first-class cricket. He has scored 183 runs at an average of 16.63. Even though he has got 4 half centuries, there is no century.
On the other hand, Yasir Ali, who suffered a head injury in the Chattogram Test, has also recovered. He has also been included in the Dhaka Test team. Earlier, the team management had selected fast bowlers Khaled Ahmed and Shahidul Islam for the Chattogram Test. The new inclusion has made it a 20-member squad for the Dhaka Test, which is unusual for them to play at home.
