Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is now a past chapter in the Bangladesh national cricket team. The right-handed pacer put down the red-green jersey long ago. But his journey in the domestic league did not stop. Although he is still running with the ball in hand, he has not yet lost his edge in wicket hunting. Therefore, Pakistan’s star pacer Mohammad Amir said he does not see any other standard in Bangladesh that can be compared with Mashrafe. Amir was impressed by Mashrafe when he came to play BPL in Bangladesh.
Mashrafe is playing as the icon cricketer of Sylhet Strikers in this year’s BPL. He is also leading the tea kingdom team. Amir also played on the same team. By teaming up with Mashrafe, Amir took Sylhet to the playoffs. However, the Pakistani pacer left the BPL after the group-stage matches to play in the Pakistan Super League. However, he praised Mashrafe before leaving.
While leaving the BPL, Amir also wished his team well. He said, “Mashrafe is a legendary pacer. There is no pacer like him in Bangladesh. The way he has been bowling so far is unbelievable. He can be an inspiration to youngsters. Hopefully, my team (Sylhet) will play good cricket till the end of the tournament.”
Amir plays almost every season of BPL. He said that he enjoyed playing in Bangladesh again this time. Praising the Bangladeshi hospitality, the Pakistani pacer added, “It’s always a pleasure to play here (Bangladesh). The crowd is very supportive. I’m happy with the hospitality I got from my team (Sylhet) and everyone else. Thank you all.”
Aamir has played 11 matches in Sylhet’s jersey in this year’s BPL. Where this left-handed pacer has also bagged 13 wickets, he is second on the list of wicket-takers. However, this BPL performance could help Amir open the national team door. However, since there is PSL in his country ahead, Amir is also challenged to do well there.
