The holy Hajj is knocking on the doors. The Hajj of 2022 will be celebrated from 7 to 22 July. Adil Rashid has taken leave from the England Cricket Board and his county team Yorkshire to perform the holy Hajj. He will not be seen in the limited over series against India as the board and county team have granted him leave.
Adil has decided to perform Hajj earlier this year. The English star is no longer constrained to go on Hajj as he gets his leave on time. Adil is scheduled to leave for Saudi Arabia on Saturday (June 25). It is expected that he will return to the country in July after performing the Hajj and return to the field with the South Africa series.
It is obligatory to perform Hajj at least once in the life of adult, physically and financially able Muslims. Rashid told Cricinfo, “I have been thinking of performing Hajj for some time But over time, that is likely to change. This year I think I have to do it. ”
Adil added: “I speak to the ECB and Yorkshire, they understand this and encourage me to do what I have to do. Then, when possible, come back. My wife and I are going there and we will stay there for a few weeks. ”
Adil says, ”This is a great moment. Everyone has different beliefs. I believe this is a big issue for me. I know, I have to do it. Since I am young, strong and healthy. It’s something I’ve been committed to. “
